Hey there peeps of Undiscovered. As the movement here on Undiscovered has slowed to a dismal pace of input I have decided to branch out to MDS (My DJ Space). With that said, I thought to make a backtrailed post and let those know that are interested that I have started a new Electro-House series called Electrolysis which is available here.

For those that are Progressive and Uplifting Trance fans, I am still doing my "Live Essentials of Trance" podcast which is available here

For those that want to keep in touch with me directly, feel free to add me to facebook

I will still be here from time to time, but only due to the good friends I have made through this site and to see if there is any more new faces worth of noting.

Heya Str80, It's good to

Heya Str80,

It's good to hear that you think this site has a personal appeal .. It's interesting that it struggles to maintain consistent popularity and use. Would you have any thoughts on what would help the site and thus the DJ community?

Not that I want this site to be jammed full of users as this could spoil it.

Hey man, Yeah for sure

Hey man,

Yeah for sure undiscovered was way more personal back in the day and that was mostly due to the quality feedback you got, for example if your mix or track was shit someone would have told you and the same goes if it was awesome. As far as i can tell the the pioneer dj search is the main reason that MDS has so many people coming thru.

I've only been on MDS for a little while, and it seems to be alright but it seems like more of a popularity contest, especially the pioneer dj search. There just seemed to be alot less ego here and all the members who put time into undiscovered got alot more out of it in return. maybe you could add some credibility to the site, much like sound on sound or something where they have industry professionals who answer questions for people on their forum, like maybe get in touch with some credible dj/producers and get them to offer some constructive criticism on some tracks and dj mixes. Their needs to be a decent user base for this be viable though as I know this all cost money, and your not gonna just throw money away on a handful of people, so what do you do?....we need more people starting who actually want to get better not just have smoke blown up there arse

I agree str80180, MDS is a

I agree str80180,

MDS is a lot less personal than Undiscovered, and it is incredibly unlikely that you will get anyone to comment on your mix regardless of the quality and genre or the amount of input and effort you contribute to others. With that said, I loved the professional and high quality feedback that you/we all receive from fellow members here on Undiscovered. It just shows you that with like minded people working together in a community can really produce some amazing ideas and results. It's goes hand in hand with respect, common courtesy, and professionalism; not something I see anywhere much these days.

With that said, I pride myself on putting in as much effort and treating others how I would like to be treated.

What I believe has happened is that people are not putting much effort into their contributions or feed back here in Undiscovered. Whether that be due to lack of interest, lack of feed back on their own work, or not knowing what to say on other peoples contributions. I believe it is a matter of forum etiquette.

I believe I made a post or something regarding this issue about 2 years back. People just are not putting the effort in anymore and expect everything in return...

Also, Ryan. I heard you disappeared and I thought that Undiscovered would fold, which I thought was really sad. But I thought to move on. Are you looking to rekindle the site? I would be happy to help if you need any extra man hours as I am no longer at UNI and have a fair bit of spare time on my hands these days. Just let me know Smiling

It is all about the music. Without it, we are all dead to this world.

So it sounds like a

So it sounds like a participation thing?? Maybe there's a better way to give incentive for folks to leave comments. I implemented the coin system and it mainly works. Maybe there's an alternative.?

This is a community fuelled site and it relies on who's using it and how much effort and time users put into reviewing music and that's a bit out of our control.

I know I haven't been around lately and I hope this hasn't contributed greatly to the fall in popularity. Facebook doesn't die because Mark Zuckerberg doesn't like your status occasionally .. hehe just jokes. But I agree .. when I've put effort and time into the site it's thrived more.

Incidentally Str80 .. what do you mean by pioneer DJ search?
