It included many different artists and genres. I would listen to The Doobie brothers, Elton John, Donna Summer , CHIC , The Beatles , Fleetwood Mac , The Rolling Stones , The Doors , and many more. When I turned eleven, I moved to Staten Island, NY and my neighbor Craig Patane [a local dj] introduced me to hip hop. He would invite me to his house and I would watch him spin house , hip hop and pop. While watching and learning from him for about 5 years, my love affair with music became more intense. All through my teens I followed music along with Craig but never got my hands on the turntables. When I turned 20 Craig took me to the Palladium on East 14th in NYC. Palladium saturday nights consisted of hip hop and house. I was hooked on NYC nightlife. At 21, I found myself frequenting The almighty and original SOUND FACTORY on West 27th St. I was lucky enough to see and hear Dj's like Lord g , and Junior Vasquez there b4 it was shut down and then re-opened as TWILO. At this point in the mid 90's, I abandoned hip hop as I felt it was saturated and lacking the originality it had in the 80's. House music for me had so much more energy and was constantly evolving. When Sound Factory re-opened as Twilo I was blessed to have heard Danny Tenaglia , Satoshi Tomiie , David Morales and countless others. Listening to all these legends and there different styles gave me a unique love and understanding of house. One night in 2001, I was listening to Danny Tenaglia play his legendary Be yourself friday's at Vinyl [6 hubert st. nyc] and I was so inspired I went out the next day and bought two 1210's , two cdj 1000's, a mixer and studio monitors. I have been mixing non stop ever since that night. I have played gigs in NYC, Brooklyn and New Jersey. http://www.musicv2.com/artist/casimo
