We've built a new mix hosting site!
Submitted by sunsoundlive on Tue, 01/07/2008 - 11:43pm.
Hello
After struggling to find a decent mix hosting site we (the good people of sunsoundlive) built one ourselves.. mixeeba.
Good, timeless mixes deserve a better home than places like sendspace etc. Obviously as DJs ourselves we're offering a service geared towards djs.. bigger filesize (250MB), an unlimited hosting period, store tracklists, comments, feedback etc.. and anything else you can think of.
So we're looking for guinea pigs; if you'd like a place to host your mix, go ahead >
It's all free.. All we ask is you provide us some feedback with your experience
Cheers

i used it to host my last mix (found at http://www.mixeeba.com?d=VisT /subtle advertising). i've had no complaints from anyone downloading, but is it possible to have some kind of progress indicator to show upload progress?
overall, it's pretty good. i'd use it again to host mixes.

Hi there,
We're based in the UK, yes. As to why we're posting here - we offer a web service and the web knows no boundaries, right? Do you say the same thing about google cos they're based in america?
Anyway, we're up for partnerships, let us know what you propose:

Boundaries; The web no, the speed of the web - yes.

Fair point, give it a try: www.mixeeba.com/down - let us know what your download speed was; also, let us know your result of this: www.speedtest.net/ so we can compare the result to something

I'll give it a crack when I get home 'cause I can't do it from work.
I'll let you know what I get.

I downloaded at about 1.5 mb per second!
I got DJ Mark Anderson July 2008 promo house mix
It's about 74mb and I had it in a matter of seconds..
I'm on ADSL2+ though, pretty quick net for this country..
Quite surprised!
Also, why isn't sunsoundlive.com a website anymore? Is it meant to be?
