hey thanks for the feedback

hey thanks for the feedback on power consuption, anothing thing thats got me now is that there seems to be more and more compay's comming out with there own vinyl emulation systems, ie M-audio's "torq", native Instruments 'traktor scratch'

have you herd anything about these new systems, the websites dont really give a proper review of them as they always say that the products are the best, most inovative and ground breaking,

the video's and reviews i have seen of the actuall programs, serato still looks better, it has a lower overall latency rate , and doenst seem to have as many proplems like crashes

i just wanna find out as much as i can befor i lay out the cash for it, although im countimg the days till i can get it

serato

After talking with all my other friends thaT SPIN, the overall consensus is that serato is tha tech !200 of these systems. I have been using it 4 over a year and have never had a crash. It reads the music great and 4 people who are just learning it has a visual aid to show when your mixes are starting to loosten up. When i first started 6 years ago I had 2 1210's and 2 cdj 1000's. I can tell you that nothing will EVER be as tight as mixing vinyl on 1200's. The biggest benefit of serato is that you have all your music right at your fingertips. No more carrying records or 12 books of cd's to gigs. You will also come to find that these sytems , serato and the others you mentioned , will make your pitch control feel a little different along with sound quality. You will have to adjust the sound on the program as well. Its like anything else it has it's +'s & -'s. I posted a mix on this site yesterday that was done with serato. If you give it a listen it may sell you or lose you. I sold my turntables 3 month's ago and boy do i miss them.

the big question

thanks for all you help with the serato questions, one last one quesiton ( for now anyway)

im looking at upgrading my mixer aswell in the not to distant future,
i want to be able to play using serato and my normal vinyl, is this an easy task to achieve ???
am i better off getting a mixer with push botton's to change the line and phono or get a mixer that has more inputs.
i saw sum the other day with 5 line and 4 phono inputs
i've also been messing around with ableton live with my decks latley aswell so would i be best with a whole nother channel just for ableton seperate from serato and normal vinyl

again thanks for the help, i love this site

I dont think it matters. when you use serato you can only use 2 channels at a time. you will have a split screen and only be able to preview 2 tracks . so you could get a 2 channel mixer that switches from line to phono and i think youl be ok. if you add ableton i guess you could get a 5 line or anything with more than 2 channels and that cut from line to phono. Wow, what did ijust say. LMAO
