There's so much in Ableton I haven't explored / exploited cause I'm a newbie. But I have the Native instruments FM7 FM Synth which gives you those classic techy sounds and pads.
I also use the built-in sampler quite a bit, there's a lot of good sample CD's out there.

Not too much into Abelton really, Cubase, and Reason are my treats. But I'm infatuated with Abeltons quantization technology. So much easier than Cubase's or Reason's.
But
Heres some VSTs you might want to keep your eye out for. All are pretty fun to play with.

To be honest, the best reply to this would be to check the Ableton forums which has the worlds biggest Tips and Tricks thread. As much as conversation on here is awesome, there is no point saying what is said better over there. The list is huge and useful for even power users. Ive had Ableton since 3.0 and I picked up a great deal from that thread.
Boeko what do you like about Ableton's quantise?

The flow of it when recording a synth is much better. It will snap the notes exactly where you want them whether your 1/16 1/32, etc..., if you're a little off ur tempo. Cubase I've had quite a bit of problems recording a synth line, and playing it back finding it sent my notes every which way but the right way. Reason is the same way, but not as bad as cubase imo. At least I can use the keyboard roll to align my notes where they should be after I quantize the notes I've selected (or use the pattern sequencer).
