...recommend it to just about any user, beginner, intermediate, and expert alike. Used in conjunction with other software through "Rewire" slave mode, its an essential piece of software to any production arsenal.

I've been toying around with Reason 4 now, and its completely revamped. Im really diggin it. They've completely redone the Sequencer window, which was in dire need of some attention, so Im really impressed with it. Its more like the abelton sequencer panel now.
They've also added a new Monophonic Arpeggiator, which blows the Matrix Pattern sequencer out of the water. Really impressed with that one -- once again, something that needed attention, and they solved it.
Theres also a new Synth they've added called "Thor". Its a Polysonic Synth -- the sounds Im pulling from it, are pretty damn nice so far -- Fatness. I'll need to get a refill sample pack for it to expand the soundbank (if PHS even has one available.).

All in all, Im uber impressed with the direction they've taken Reason. Still no VST Support, which sucks (if they did have it, I would give up at least 3 other production softwares I own), but you win em all. Perhaps on Reason 5?

I'll be making a demo for all y'all here, using some of the new features on Reason 4, once I fine tune the skills on these new toys.
