Well I thought I had better return the favour and have a listen to your mix Nate. I recognised some of your tracks you played. So I'm gonna be a trainspotter and try to guess what they are. First track 'Wolfgang - Flashback (Original mix)', choice track! 2nd track Nadastrom - Pussy (mix unkown) I got a copy of Soul 2 Soul's Back To Life, where the samples come from, on vinyl I bought many many years ago, another excellent track, Third - ?? cool track thou, Fourth - DJ Dan - Monkey Business (DJ Bam Bam Mix) always a good track, 5th track - Sebastien Leger - The People, it's got Marilyn Manson's 'Beautiful People' samples throughout. The last track, well it ended before I could recognise it.
Now for the HONEST opinion. Your beat mixing was spot on! Buuuuuuuuut...Just gotta work on picking the right moments to mix them in to keep the energy going as well as picking tracks that work with each other. For eg, the People track had a tribal type beat to it, burump bump bump, burump bump bump to it, the next track after was a straight bomp bomp bomp bomp type beat. Very noticable when going from one mix to the other. Apart from that pretty dam good. Cheerz
Electronic music is all about feeling. Feel the beat, feel the emotion, feel the rhythm.

announced
yeah diggin it dude i knew nearly all the tracks was nice what gear are you using?
added
not using any physical gear, only software such as traktor and mixed in key.
bit easier then i thinl.
all the songs were very close in bpm so beatmatching was simple as and using mik ment that all songs were all mixed in a proper harmonious way
only been playing around with the software for around 2 months now. just waiting for my redunency/holiday payout from my last job, then looking at either a m-audio or numark midi contoler
and electrolover, your mixes and alex rogers electro mixes were the ones that inspired my new found love of everything electro

Hey Nate, Nice work. Is this your first Mix ?
. Pretty Damn good mate , & I'm not that big a fan of electro. You had my foot tapping nicely..
Just one thing I would say, which is what we all do when getting started, watch your levels when working into the next track. Most were good, but some were getting louder as if trying to overcompensate for the previous track.. When doing this you may be better off to apply a liitle fade of the playing track whilst slowly bringing the new one in.. Just my 2 cents worth anyway..
Cheers

If you remember this you cant go wrong... Being a great Dj is like being a great magician, it is the art of making something appear and disappear before your eyes without anybody actually knowing what is going on..

Nice effort Nate .. Congrats! bet you're pretty chuffed that you've got your first one up. I tell you my first mix sounded like shite compared to this. Of course there's room for improvement, but that doesn't ever stop ya know.
Look forward to hearing the next one.

the beauty about the cdj400s
the beauty about the cdj400s is u can plug ur usb, external hdd or ipod into them and u dont need cds,not only that each 400 is a sound card and also can be used as a midi controller too.its worth spendin the money dude now then down the track.i made the mistake of buying shit hardware when i started djing.6mts on and i had to buy better equipment.
