Techno inspired by the wild stormy weather....Dark and Funky with a constant upbeat groove.

If you love the darker side of techno this mix is for you but I warn you don't like cheesy endings this one might spoil the mix for you. But I was following the weather so by the end of the mix the sun was shining so I thought it fit the mood perfectly either way you be the judge.

Some minor effecting errors as I am still getting used to the digital transition.

Hi Sam, Upon hearing your

Hi Sam,

Upon hearing your opening track I was thinking this could be the beginning of a deep dark journey. That first track had a real menacing vibe about it, yet what was to follow really wasn't all that inspiring. I have to say that apart from a couple of decent tracks, most of the rest sounded a bit generic for my liking. To be more specific, none of the tracks really inspired me to move, rather they just sounded like 'filler' and didn't sound very interesting. They may have had a nice groove but little progression or variation. This sort of music could maybe work better if mixed in a 3 deck set up where you are mixing more dynamically - not allowing the listener to get complacent in hearing the same sound for too long. Put it down to personal taste if you like, but I know you've got better in you Sam as I've heard it before!

Looking forward to your next mix mate.

Hello Sam, finally I had the

Hello Sam,
finally I had the chance to have a properly listen of your set.

I say sorry from the beginning because my english dictionary is so poor that it results hard for me to write down all what I really think.
Hopefully one day I will have this gift, anyway...I'm not a big fan of the dark techno style in particular when other "different styles" are added on it.

By my point of view and by my taste you added too many styles in 50minutes set, people could hardly realize what it is your main genre with the risk to leave them confused. By my taste dark and funky have a bad relationship Smiling
I couldn't feel (hear) any story in the live set. As story I mean no beginning/intro part no body part and no ending tracks just the last track gave me the information that the was the ending of the set. In the end the set was pretty FLAT.
Poor of groovie....it is understandable as to be a dark techno set though.
If I can suggest you next time....just try....few genre of music (example: Minimal, Tech house, Techno), give the set an head a body and an end.
This is absolutely not a critics, I like most of the tracks you used, hopefully you've really understood my meaning, if not please let me know and maybe an australian mate can help me to traslate properly what I really meant.

Looking forward to hear another set soon.

Have a good one.

I feel I may have rushed this mix. I have lost my way a bit since going digital and after giving this a few more listens I can understand the point of view from other listeners now.

I finish with what's done is done move on its in the past.

Thanks again for the feedback this gives me some direction as to where to go next and what I need to work on.

Have to agree with Q on your

Have to agree with Q on your progression which didnt quite take me there after your flawless opening track - track selection is always the hardest thing even the pros dont always get it right.
Your mixing is great though, especially as this was ad-lib so 4 stars for that!
Have you tried a long prog set ?
