I really enjoyed that production m8. I could picture a remix being done to that.
What gear are you using?
Mon, 25/06/2007 - 6:00am
My gear is very simple. Only Softsynths, a keyboard midi controller for the pianos, an EMU 1820 soundcard and M Audio BX8a Monitors...
The real instruments in my music are the bass (sometimes) and the guitars (always).
I use many soundfonts, a huge library and all the suite of native instruments, fruity loops for sequencing (it's good, and works for me) and audition 2 for mixing and mastering with ozone.

That was awesome! Really enjoyed that, wish it was a bit longer that's all!

I got excited when I saw the title of this track because I love songs that can bring out that feeling of nostalgia and this hits the nail on the head. Masterful use of the organ sounds dude, and the piano is utterly brilliant.
What sequencing software do you use?

It's OK. You can do the remix, interesting to hear that, but I could not give you the files because the piano, organ and those, are analog recordered..
But If you want I could try to export the midi file of the piano, and work with that, and for the others sounds jsut Cut and Edita, haha...
So tellme.
For My remixes I have to do everything to isolate the center channel, the bass, etc... hard but a good effort works!....

In that case I might just try doing a simple mix, maybe with an acapella from ccmixter.org. Sort of like a mashup.
Like what I did with the song Indian Latte.
I'm much better at remixing when working with the data in a .flp file, if you have any other projects like that or in the future you think you might like a remix of let me know.
For example: The Mask (Illusive Mix).
Cheers.

Yeah I now It's better to remix something with the original tracks, but I only use the FL as a sequencer, to trigger my VSTi... I really didn't use the sounds or synths in the FL... maybe the sequencer for drums.... but I use also Battery and stuff like that.... in this song is battery with loops... so you can't do nothing here, hehe,.... Im gonna check it out... the MIDI file works for you, you can trigger a synth with that,,, I think I could extract the piano and organ MIDIS.... the song it's only that... piano and epiano....

That's cool I have battery. Yeah the midi data is what it's all about, extracting can be tricky especially if the source is polyphonic, if you succeed that would be awesome. (Let me know how you pulled it off!
)If not, I'll try a mashup.

Hey Illusive, I was searching and I couldn't find the fl file or the original midi file ... so all you have is the mp3, good luck!... jejeje...

Here's the best I could do:
Durden vs Narva9 - Don Quixote Nostalgia (Illusive Mind Mashup)
What copyright license would you like it under?

I wanted to do the same song in my version but I like yours enought to let the song as it is... I was listening the mashup with my monitors and it's ok... I'm pleased with the result.
