Cutters - Donkey Puncture
OK, this is different. A bit of an experiment. The structure is pretty Spartan, I was concentrating on the beat and just needed to finish this goddamn song. I was experimenting with beatmaker on the iphone, and nothing seemed to fit, plopped a few sample and hold synths and choir pads in it to make it resemble a song. I am happy with elements of this track, but as a whole it’s mixed too hot.. please comment, criticize and troll.

the first 15 seconds.... i was thinking i was gonna be in for a good song... like someone told me... i will tell you, it needs to be simplified... its too confusing, so yeah make it less complex and all over the place if you get my drift? if it was more simple it would be a pretty good song. the bass was good, but i found it to hard to keep with the rhythm really..., but its a good effort bud
I WILL BE NUMBER 1

Well it's certainly different to a lot of the content on this site and worth the time to listen to. The influences are there but it doesn't feel like an imitation. To be frank at this stage I'd say its a 3 star due to the sonic quality of the overall mixdown but the concept itself is worth the extra star. I think the placement of sounds is where you need to concentrate. There is a decent spread but I'd like some more depth and perhaps some motion in both. Using some flanging at low wet settings or setting a chorus out of phase and automating it to fall in and out would be my suggestion, this would enhance the sound as well as giving it more space. I'd even suggest getting more intricate with the edit, I realize its already quite complicated but i think this sound lends itself to micro-detailing.
Peace in the middle east.............. Rhys.

like this one. It has a nice squarepusher feel to it. i agree with the micro editing as mentioned... it's such a chore though.
levels are good (don't think that they're overly hot really), eq wise sounds are very much sitting well and playing nicely with each other.. at least on my monitors. And beats done on an iphone gosh!
4 from me. keep it up!

'Some' of the beat was done on an iPhone.
I made a 1 bar drum/synth loop with Kontakt and Sytrus, chopped it into regions with slicex, feed the slices into BeatMaker on the iPhone, sequenced a few 8 bar loops and then programmed the rest of the fx in FL Studio, (using the awesome free 'd blue Glitch' plugin)

Wow man. Anyone that wants to understand your music should probably go and check out some Aphex Twin or Autechre. I love the way that although there is a good serving of glitch, the 4-4 is never far away from the mind making the track effortlessly roll. My only personal edit would be the dody house intro
I dont think the quality gave this track justice but a solid 5 from me for vision and skills.
