So clean! I am always amazed by this because I cannot seem to get the muck out of my tracks no matter how hard I scrub them in post production.
I would have prefered the sound to be more dense at times, there seemed to be too much space between the voices in parts -just my opinion.
Also, I love the 8-bit rubber squeak thing -bonus marks.
Keep it up.

thanks for the comments. it
thanks for the comments. it definately could have done with some more rythmic fills to fill out the sound and I may go back and have a look at that as well as sidechaining the bass to give it a touch more balls. thanks for takin the time.

Mate, this is great.
I love how flowingly progressive the track is and the blend of sounds you have used. I felt it took me on a very chilled journey, just beautiful!
The only criticism I have for you is, that you need to master the track as I felt some of the samples volumes could be tweaked a little more.
What did you use to produce this? I really like it, great stuff!

thanx heaps matt that made
thanx heaps matt that made me happy. im just usin straight up reason 4 on a standard sound card so my mastering is average, however i was a touch slack with this and laid it down quickly (5 or so hours) and decided to just post it to see what reaction it got b4 i spent more time on it so totally agree that more tweaking is needed. i will get a sound card and a mastering program soon but for now my pennies are low. thanx for your time man.

Not a problem at all mate.
Not a problem at all mate. I'm keeping my promise in dedicating some time to reviewing the music on this site in the hopes to spur other people to follow suit.
There is far to little activity on here, and it's been like this for a very long time.
Time to fix it people!
back on topic:
5 hours in Reason is feat in itself... Reason is pretty hard to work around and through. I've got a firm understanding of Ableton Live now so I've been going through so many ideas over the last few weeks. I suggest you get your hands on Ableton (legal or not) and get them dirty. Nothing compares to it on the market.
Anyway, great stuff. I will wait expectantly for your next piece

Hi emc
top stuff mate i really like what you have done here, the sounds you have chosen work really well together.
I especially like the first layer of bass, so simple yet so effective. Just a few more finishing touches and it will sound even better.
Keep em coming dude.

love that kick, sounds awesome. Would like a bit more mid presence, maybe just a simple case of eq'ing. Nice work tho keep it up bro.

emc! Nice to see you getting your groove back with some production mate!
Good to see you.
Dude I like your work, really clean kick line and some great ideas for structure. However, I felt at times it went too low - I know what you're trying to achieve and it can work but don't sacrifice sounds for minimalism. For instance, if you want to break it down, use some sweeps or pads in the background to keep the energy high.
I liked the Atari/80's video game/space invaders type broken arpeggio in there though, very nice - I think you should play on that aspect of the track a bit more.
Is it just coincidence that the artwork you've chosen for this track reminds me of those ghosts out of PACMAN?
My favorite aspect of this track? Definitely the kick. Least favorite? Probably the pads, they're a bit flat and feel a little out of key to me. Keep up the good work my friend, you've definitely got what it takes as a producer technically, but I want to see a bit more effort put into it.
In saying that, if a mere 5 hours is all it took you to produce this little gem, I'm sure you're destined for greatness if you were to put 5 WEEKS in!
Peace

sorry brother, forgto to rate it. To be honest it not my fav tune that you've done but production wise its very good. ps what exactly is the kick called that you use? you said its the 'basic' one, is that the kick that is called 'basics' or just the one that loads automatically?
