"Tear it Down" Final Release (I Think)

New Single on my upcoming EP (which has no name).
I threw this together in about 20 hours of straight Producing, start to final production.

I really would appreciate some feedback on this track.

Thanks, and Enjoy. Smiling

You Knew

I would like love this track. I have to have this 4 my next mix. I see it as one of the first 2 tracks or the perfect end to the set. What site can i get it from? This is quality and whats more important is the track has character. Great work! Evil I really need to tackle Reason. Oh by the way a friend of mine was telling me about a program called Logic or Logitech. He said it was smoother and quicker to work with. Any truth to this?

heh

heh. Thought you'd dig that track. Cool

If You're an Apple/Mac kinda guy, then you should try it. Im not sure if its any smoother, than any other software out there, I think its just more of a personal preference. I havent tried it. Im kind of Apple Impaired. Sad
I can say this,, pick a program, and stick with it, until you know the ins and outs entirely, then watch as you constantly blow your mind with every track you produce.

I've just reloaded this track, made a couple of edits to it (altered some notes on the main synth after the breakdown, and added some delay and reverb FX to the background synth-line at the breakdown). Spin it one more time bro. Tell me if the changes are solid. Im too tired to tell right now. lol

Cheers for the feedback. Smiling Once I get it in and out of final production, I'll have it up on my website for purchase. The rate that this track is going, it should be out of final prod. by Mon or Tues. Smiling

K, goin to sleep.

Cheers m8. Laughing out loud

K, I Lied...

... I finished the final production last night and this morning. Couldn't sleep much, and was up early.
So here's the final release (I think).
Im a little hesitant to put it up for sale just yet, cuz I might make a couple minor changes here and there throughout the next weeks. That, and I don't usually release tracks for sale until I've got enough for at least an EP. I've got a couple more tracks that Im working on to finish up my new EP, but they are really slow W.I.Ps.... It's killin me.
If anyone wants this track "Tear it Down", or "Nature of Human Condition", just send me a PM, or email, and I'll set it up on my website for a limited time purchase.

Enjoy This Release. Smiling

Rocks mate!
Ive listened this this a few times now and it reall didn't grab me at first but now im digging the groove more and more.
I played it to my wife(who is a total Detroit nut) and she is loving it.
Production is smooth, mix is great, the funk is there!

Thanks m8.
I appreciate the props, and the fact you are playing it for others (even if its only for your wife. hehe).
I've come to the realisation, that all the tracks I've produced over the past 2 months, have been great, but are lacking that "over the top" edge on them. Mostly they're missing that kick ass melody that should be layered over top of the track. Its like I cook up and serve the biscuits, but they got no gravy! lol Ghey analogy yeah, but you get the substance.
Im sure it'll hit me all of a sudden sooner or later. I guess thats why people team up (swayzak, m.a.n.d.y., etc...) in the electronic industry. Who knows, maybe thats what I need to do.
Or maybe I just need to smoke a pile of grass, and finish the damn tracks I've written in the past couple months. lol

Thanks for the feedback people. Smiling It all adds to the inspiration. Smiling

Peace!

I think your work is great as is but if you need some inspiration on how to give your tracks some more edge , I think listening to a track by NIck Fanciulli called Lucky heather may help. Eye-wink

I never thought of it like that, but I can see where your coming from. Why not add some vocals? That's what hooks me everytime. I listen to vocals first, then a track. Live vocals would be sweet, but it doesn't have to be a live vocalist, why not play around with some samples. I'm absolutely loving Ben Westbeech - Hang Around (Karizma's Kaytronic Dub Mix) at the moment, and if you listen to the original track, it only samples a small amount of the vocals, but adds so much to the remix. Something else to listen to is the Sir Pier live mix. Theres a link to it somewhere on undiscovered and it's a killer. He uses lots of samples, or plays songs with small samples in them that you know, but can't put your finger on where you know it from. I love that! Makes me think about a track more, play it more, research it more, which can only be good publicity for your tracks. Another sample I love is on the remix of Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Better. Such a small sample of the original song, that really has nothing to do with the original song, but makes up such a huge part of the remix. I went on a bit here, but hopefully it gives you something to think about.

really dig this mate! great

really dig this mate! great feel to it...backround percusiion sounds great!

pads give it a a more progressive sound ... but i reckon it would b alot better without it..maybe fade it in as you drop the drums @ around 3:10..... then when ya bring everything back in i rekon it would go off if ya had some kind of electric synth lead with a bit of delay, cutting through the mix..

just some ideas Laughing out loud

cool track, mate

Hey Boeko! "Tear it Down" is kwality. Nice pads, nice atmosphere, and really, really nice flow throughout - (which is important to me as a listener). I'd love to obtain this track and play it out. I think it would go down well with many punters. Not sure if I would use it at the start or the end of a set (although I think i could go either, depending on the night).

You mention that you feel it lacks that "over the top" element, but, man, don't put the pressure on yourself! Some of the best tracks I have are very similar in flow, smoothness, etc... and although it might take a few listens for it to creep under a listener's skin, "Break it Down" has that, hmmm.... je ne sais quois, that should keep it on playlists for yonks. (I still drop the occasional track from as far back as late-90's!). I think that if you allowed some remixes, or as you say, maybe team up with someone, you would get that elusive element. Sometimes it just takes someone else's input production-wise.

Anyway, enough rambling, good stuff, man. It's going on my (under-utilised) myspace player.

Take care.

Computer Crashed

Thanks for the props guys. Smiling
My Music production has come to a screeching halt.
I had a complete Hard Drive failure yesterday, and I lost alot of data, programs and samples. Im in the midst of trying to retrieve the data, but its a slow process.

I'll keep y'all updated.
Apologize for not being around much, my computers been sucking balls lately.
I'll be back once I've retrieved all my data.

Peace Smiling

Thanks m8. Smiling Appreciate it. Im using Abelton Live 5.2, with umm, well, a tonne of VSTs (Vstation, Absynth, Kontakt, Battery3, etc...), and Reason 3.0. I'll post my gear on here tomorrow, in a forum post for ya.
Been using Reason for about 7 years, and Abelton for about 3.

Thanks Bro. Smiling Im putting this track away for a little bit, so I can swim around the collective consciousness and see what kind of beats and synth sounds float into my pool. Too bad, cuz its holding up the release of my new EP "Supplemental", but what are ya gonna do, ya dig? Im sure something will come along soon enough. Important thing is not to rush it, like I always do. hehe
Reading comments like these do alot for the creative process. Smiling As well as sites like these in general -- that are filled with like-minded cats, who value the true sound of music. So many sites out there are all too concerned with the glamour aspect of the scene, and worried about pleasing others, only to get shat upon by the elitists.
Love Undiscovered!!

I got most of it retrieved. I just lost alot of applications installations, so Im back to square 1 -- re-installing all of my VSTs (not fun. It'll take me the better part of a week to get all of them installed, configured, and integrated into my production programs, and midi controllers). I've got all of my samples backed up on DVDs, and on my other HD's (thank god for 390Gb).
Things happen for a reason though. My last format was a shitty one. There have been a couple of windows errors and little annoyances that I've been dealing with for the past few months. This is the kick in the ass that I need. hehe

K, off to the pub. Smiling Great sunny Sunday, and I just proposed to my g/f, so we're celebrating at the pub we met at. Smiling
