Again another great easy listening piece. Nice melodic ambience but overall it comes out a little too mushy across the frequencies. The opening phrases are on the same plug in right? Would be better if you separated the low and high parts and changed the filter frequency and resolution on the higher notes to sharpen them up a bit.
Peace in the middle east.............. Rhys.

but like a full song not just the vocal stabs you get in house/electro etc....
oh. soz.
this song is very reminiscent of "the Postal Service" (indie/electronic band). Line above from thier song "such great heights"
i was waiting for some really nice, deep vocals to come in
vocals + some cleaning up for this one = 5*****
peace,

I dig the postal service. I
I dig the postal service. I really do! I think they are really brave for the sounds they do, and the lyrics are really personal ...which is where I fall down really. I don't really have anything to say. lol
Thanks for the comments. When you say 'cleaning', I know what you mean, but don't know how to go about it. Reason 4.0 has a mastering suite and some powerful eqing tools but I am pretty well a noob in that regard. I have watched some tutorials, and well, you are listening to the result.
I am fairly happy with the mix so what would you suggest? Reverb? A lot of people suggest I use a lot more of this but again, the noob factor kinda smashes me there.
...I guess I'll just play with it for a while

i know what you mean... for one, i have about 5 unfinished songs that i've hit a brick wall with because i urgently need to get some lyrics for, and when it comes to cleaning up, i'm generally pretty noob to
I just play with the mastering presets on the logic output1-2 channel strip, and tweak a couple knobs there. I think rhys had a better idea of what you need to clean there
in logic i generally use a combi of compressor, expander, limiter, eq, and exciter... maybe sub-bass. Whatever else i might think it needs
Peace.
+1 for Postal Service liking

perhaps some bitcrusher (and
perhaps some bitcrusher (and additional compression, eq, or de-noiser to then clean that again) on some of the lower instruments (esp the bass, but on everything) could help reduce the "mud" levels you can get... a little side-chaining never hurt anyone either
EQ is always great for polishing up little problems (esp muddiness in the lower freqs)
have a play, see what makes positive differences
hope could be a little help

i like ur tunes mate.
i reckon sound effects will make ur songs sound more professional.
the intro i think definately requires sound fx rather than sounding plain only with the bass playing by itself.. it would give more feel to the song.
but a nice song to chill..
