Im not sure if I like the bass synth. I had just changed it yesterday, and am not sure I like it, so it might change a tad. o.0

Nice work Boeko,
I really dig the dark element to this one. It's got a great flow, and enough variation throughout to keep me really listening. I quite like the highs in particular.
I must say, I like the ambient trip you're on at the moment. Very, very nice stuff.

I've listened to this track, and switched the bass riff around too much to know what sounds good, and what doesnt anymore.
My question. Did I kill the bassline in this version I uploaded? I mean,, does it sound foreign to the piece as a whole?
I just can't tell anymore..
Thanks m8's

it sounds fine to me. Although I haven't heard what the bass line was originally, so can't fairly judge how much it's changed.
I don't think that this riff now sounds out of place in any case. It definitely helps the track achieve a nice dark, eerie character (if that's what you were going for!).
Could it be a case of working on the track too much?

...exactly the case m8. I've listened to this track way too much (as I do all my tracks). so much that I couldnt separate the bassline from the main riff.
Very frustrating. lol.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think Im going to keep it as is, but see if I can clean it up a tad, without taking away from the raunchy feel of the bassline.

I learned a couple new techniques that Im trying out in the mastering stages. Its a pretty cool compression technique. In short, I split the signal, route one signal uncompressed out to the mixer ch.1. The other signal, I chain through a compressor, simple reverb (wet/dry purposes), then out to ch.2 on the mixer. I set ch.1 to %100 (uncompressed signal), and ch.2 (compressed signal) downplayed about 30% from ch. 1's volume.
Its adding a lot more balls and equality to the track.
Since I don't have a proper P.A., if anyone reads this, and cares to help out by telling me how it sounds on a PA, send me a message, and I'll send you a copy thats not using this technique, and one that is, so you can see the difference, and tell me if its more punchy, and/or if it sounds good on a PA at all.
Thanks a lot.
Uploaded the re-mastered version. enjoy.

Hey Boeko,
Chaining the baseline as you've done has really taken any sort of raw edge off of it, and added a bit more of an under-lying pulse to it (if you follow). I think it is just what this track needed.
I suspect that on a PA it will sound heaps better than the old version (as is my understanding of the effects of chain compression on sounds). I wish I had one as I'd love to hear that growling riff full blast.
Great job, mate. I really like this.

the dirty sinister vibe, nice clicky claps!
Love it when the new riff comes in around 2.30
This album is going to be a must have.
